The S100 air velocity switch is a reliable, cost-effective way to monitor airflow.  It signals for low flow with choice of NO or NC relay output whenever air velocity falls below the user defined trip point.  The S100 trip point is easily set via potentiometer adjustment within a range of 0.5 - 20 m/s (100 - 4000 fpm).  With included mounting bracket options and convenient push-wire connections, S100 installation is fast and easy.

The S100 is a good fit for applications needing to: 
  •  Monitor fan speeds 
  • Confirm airflow in duct is adequate for proper operation of ventilation systems 
  • Ensure there is sufficient airflow for combustion processes
  • Activate an air cleaner, or other equipment, in response to airflow from a system fan or blower
S100 Air Velocity Switch Beats Sail Switch

 

The S100 switch is not prone to mechanical failures like a sail switch that is actuated by a “sail” or paddle which gets displaced due to the force of moving air.  The S100 will not ‘‘stick’’ in an open or closed position due to a buildup of dust and debris on the sail, and it will not oscillate between open and closed positions, providing false readings.
